Mongolian Yurts The ancient traditional Mongolian yurts were called "Lu", "felt bag" or "felt tent".   With the development of animal husbandry economy and the improvement of herdsmen's life, huts or felt tents were gradually replaced by Mongolian yurts.   In the Mongolian nomadic life of "living by water and grass", the yurt is an indispensable living appliance.   It is recorded in Black Manchu: "There are two ways of making the vault: in Yanjing, willows are used as the bones, just as in the South, and it can be rolled up.   The door is opened in front of the door, and the roof is like an umbrella, and the roof is called a skylight, which is covered with felt and can be carried immediately.   The grass shall be made of willow wood, and its diameter shall be made of felt tarts.   It shall not be rolled up and carried on the cart."
