How does a power steering pump work? Generally, vane pump is composed of a pump body with double arc curves in the inner chamber, a slotted rotor, vanes and other parts. Some are installed on the flywheel housing at the rear end of the engine, and are also driven by timing gears. When the engine is running, the booster pump rotor is driven to rotate, and the vanes move outward along the blade grooves under the action of centrifugal force, and are close to the inner wall of the pump body.
